New Client Portal for SCS Administered Funding

Later this year, SCS will begin using a secure online client portal. This new portal will make it easier for you to access your information and complete tasks online.

The portal is designed to support independence, provide clear up‑to‑date information and offer a secure and convenient way to manage your funding‑related details.

The expected launch is July 2026. We will share more information and provide opportunities to learn about the new system closer to the launch date.

When the client portal becomes available, you will be able to:

  • Send and receive secure messages with your SCS team about your funding and services
  • Review and update your personal information
  • View your approved SCS funding, including:
    • Your total approved funding amount
    • Payments that have been made
    • Your remaining available balance
  • View a list of payments made for approved services
  • View and update information for your workers and service providers, such as contact details
  • Submit invoices or review and approve invoices submitted by service providers
  • Review and sign required SCS funding agreements online

Support will be available to help you use the new client portal, including:

  • Clear, step‑by‑step instructions
  • Plain‑language guides
  • Assistance from our team

Student Links is a mentorship initiative that works with high school students between the ages of 14 and 21, who identify as having an intellectual disability. This initiative helps them explore their interests in the community and possible roles for themselves after high school.
Community Living Ontario does this through one time community meetings and longer-term mentorship opportunities. These opportunities are created by connecting students with volunteer mentors who share their interest(s) and who have expertise and/or job experience in an area the student wishes to explore.

Province exempting Canada Disability Benefit as income to protect recipients from benefit reductions

The Ontario government intends to exempt the Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) as income so that social assistance recipients would receive the benefit without seeing a reduction in their provincial social assistance payments or entitlements. The changes would help recipients of the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Ontario Works and the Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities (ACSD) program receive their maximum entitlements.

Ontario government, CHEO break ground on new integrated treatment centre

A ceremony was held at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) Thursday morning to break ground on a new integrated treatment centre.

The new, fully accessible, state-of-the-art children’s treatment centre will provide integrated and coordinated care under one roof to better serve children and youth living with complex medical, developmental and behavioural needs, connecting them to the care they need, closer to home, the Ontario government said in a news release Thursday.

This family network connects unpaid caregivers—especially parents—with a supportive network of peers who understand their journey. Through education, advocacy, and shared experiences, they empower caregivers with the knowledge and resources needed to navigate the challenges ahead. By fostering a compassionate and inclusive community, they help caregivers feel heard, supported, and prepared for the road ahead.

New! DSO Housing Modules

The DSO Housing Navigators have created a series of self-guided e-learning videos (modules) that users can progress through on their own. You or your loved one can return to the videos whenever you like, as many times as you like.
